  • Community Outreach: Supporting Those Affected by Hurricane Helene

Yesterday was a day of unity and support in New Port Richey as The Law Offices of James J. Altman, P.A. teamed up with Invincia Technologies to give back to our neighbors, first responders, and county workers in the wake of the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. At The Law Offices of James J. Altman, P.A., we set up two canopies to serve anyone in need, offering a small gesture of relief during this challenging time.

We fired up the grills and served hotdogs with all the fixings, while handing out to-go bags filled with snacks and protein-packed items for those on the move. It was a chance to offer not only a warm meal but also comfort to those who have been tirelessly working to rebuild and support our community, especially our local municipalities, first responders, and county workers who have been on the front lines.

While the event was successful, the impact of Hurricane Helene continues to weigh heavily on our community. Homes have been lost, lives disrupted, and many are still in need of support. We’re urging everyone to come together whether through donations of food, money, or your time to continue to assist those who are still recovering. Every bit of help counts, and together we can make a real difference in the lives of those affected.

  • Hurricane Preparedness: Safeguarding Your IT Infrastructure

Hurricane Preparedness: Safeguarding Your IT Infrastructure

As hurricane season approaches, businesses in Florida and other vulnerable regions must take proactive measures to protect their IT infrastructure. The potential for power outages, flooding, and other disruptions can pose significant risks to your data and operations. At Invincia Technology, we understand the critical importance of being prepared. Here’s how you can ensure your business is ready for the storm.

    1. Assess Your Current IT Infrastructure

Before the storm hits, take the time to evaluate your existing IT infrastructure. Identify any weak points that could be susceptible to damage during a hurricane. This includes checking your servers, network equipment, and data storage solutions. Make sure all hardware is securely installed and, if possible, elevated to avoid potential water damage.

    2. Implement Robust Data Backup Solutions

Data loss can be catastrophic for any business. Ensure that you have a comprehensive data backup strategy in place. Here are some key steps:

    • Regular Backups: Schedule regular backups to ensure all critical data is up-to-date.
    • Offsite Storage: Store backups in a secure offsite location or utilize cloud storage solutions to protect against physical damage.
    • Testing: Regularly test your backup systems to ensure data can be restored quickly and accurately.

    3. Utilize Cloud Services

Cloud services offer a reliable way to maintain access to your data and applications, even if your physical office is affected by the storm. By leveraging cloud-based infrastructure, you can ensure continuity of operations and remote accessibility for your employees.

    4. Enhance Cybersecurity Measures

Disaster situations can often be accompanied by increased cyber threats. Ensure that your cybersecurity measures are robust and up-to-date. This includes:

    • Firewalls and Antivirus Software: Make sure your systems are protected against malware and other cyber threats.
    • Employee Training: Educate your employees on best practices for cybersecurity, especially in the context of remote work.
    • Regular Updates: Keep all software and systems updated to protect against vulnerabilities.

    5. Develop a Business Continuity Plan

A well-defined business continuity plan is essential to ensure your operations can continue with minimal disruption. This plan should include:

    • Emergency Contacts: A list of key personnel and external partners to contact in case of an emergency.
    • Communication Strategy: Clear communication protocols for keeping employees and clients informed.
    • Remote Work Capabilities: Ensure that employees can work remotely if the office is inaccessible.

    6. Invest in Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)

Power outages are common during hurricanes. Investing in UPS devices can provide temporary power to critical systems, allowing for safe shutdown procedures and data protection. Ensure that your UPS devices are properly maintained and have sufficient capacity for your needs.

    7. Regularly Review and Update Your Plans

Hurricane preparedness is not a one-time task. Regularly review and update your disaster recovery and business continuity plans to address any changes in your IT infrastructure or business operations. Conduct periodic drills to ensure all employees are familiar with the procedures.

    Conclusion

Preparing for a hurricane involves more than just physical preparations; it requires a comprehensive approach to safeguarding your IT infrastructure and data. At Invincia Technology, we specialize in helping businesses like yours develop and implement robust disaster recovery plans. Don’t wait until it’s too late – take proactive steps today to ensure your business is ready for whatever the storm brings.

  • Proud Sponsors of The Association of Legal Administrators

Invincia Technologies is proud to sponsor the ALA Central Florida Chapter’s signature event, the Business Partner Showcase.

Invincia’s executive team, including Scott Dollar and Bill Rutherford, attended the event February 28th at the Tampa Bay History Center. They spent the day showcasing Invincia Technologies IT Serucity services and  networking with Tampa’s top legal administrators.

The Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) was formed over 30 years ago to enhance the education of legal managers and promote the profession of legal administrators and functional specialists all over the world.

    Scott Dollar

In 1981, a small group of local administrators formed the Suncoast Chapter ALA when the Chapter Charter was presented by Attorney Charlie Robinson at an inaugural meeting at a restaurant on Treasure Island, Florida. One of the early functions of the new Chapter was hosting the first Managing Partners Dinner in 1983 where Brad Hildebrandt, the original founder of the Association of Legal Administrators, was the guest speaker. Presently the Suncoast Chapter serves over 100 members that include a diverse group of managers and decision makers from the tri-county area of Hillsborough, Pinellas and Polk counties.

    The Association of Legal Administrators

The goals of the Association are to provide personal and professional growth. At the local level the Chapter offers a wonderful networking opportunity for all members through an Internet Listserv that has become a great resource for instantaneous feedback regarding any problems or issues an administrator may face on a day-to-day basis. The Chapter produces a quarterly newsletter offering a wealth of information including upcoming events, relevant articles on human resources, information systems and technology, leadership, marketing, finance and motivation, as well as contact information for our local business partners. We also offer an annual educational conference developed by a committee of peers, Chapter lunch meetings, and hosted webinars. We encourage all members to utilize resources at the ALA regional and national levels by visiting the website www.alanet.org to explore the many benefits offered to legal administrators and functional specialists throughout the world.
